The Tale of the Iron Balance

Once there was a merchant who owned an iron balance. He was going out of town for a month so he asked another merchant to save the iron balance for him. So when he came back the other merchant said the balance had been eaten by rats. The first merchant knew this was impossible, so he asked the other merchant," May I take your son to accompany me in the cave?"
             "Sure."
He took the other merchant's son to the cave and trapped the son inside. The merchant came back and claimed that the son was kidnapped by a bird. The merchant knew he was lying.
So they went to Buddha for justice.
             " He stole my son!"
"Well if rats can eat up an iron balance then why can't a bird pick up a kid?"
Then the good merchant explained the story and both got there things back.
